Unitarias, a Spanish documentary film, shows our project in action

Unitarias (http://www.unitarias.es) is a Spanish documentary film which depicts a moving journey of a Galician rural school teacher, from 1961 to his retirement in 1996. Through this journey, the whole picture of Spanish rural schools, its conditions, protagonists, changes, key role in the development of villages and their people, as many other aspects, are shown.

New perspectives and changes in present rural schools are also part of this film. CRA Boqueixón-Vedra, one of our pilot schools in RuralSchoolCloud project, (and national initiative Rede de Escolas na Nube) play a key role in the documentary, showing how cloud technology and innovative methodologies are part of schools’ life.

Here’s a short summary of the documentary, focusing on innovation and cloud technologies in a rural school.

RuralSchoolCloud project presented at the Schools on the Cloud Network

Last Oct 31st. our coordinator presented the project at the begining of the Annual Summit of Schools on the Cloud (SoC) European Network in Palermo. (Full program of the event is here).

This Network is funded by the European Commission under the Lifelong Learning Programme, Key Activity 3 – ICT Networks, with a duration of 3 years (01/01/2014 – 31/12/2016).

RuralSchoolCloud project also appeared in one of the first publications of SoC Network “Education on the Cloud 2015. State of the Art” (pg 118-9) as one of the most relevant initiatives in applying cloud computing to learning in European schools.

We’ve already taken the first steps in working together with the results of our project, and in the following weeks, we’ll formaliza an agreement with SoC in order to continue our collaboration and support of SoC.

Our project celebrates its final event in a beautiful environment, in Santiago de Compostela next October 10, Saturday.

It will be an open event for teachers, researchers, student teacheres and educational policy administrators, where the experiences from the project, and other from Galician schools will be shared, debated and reflected upon.

Don’t miss it! it will be a full day seminar, with free lunch and a pack of products from the project. You are also invited to bring your ICT related experiences to share with us.
